Accessories for the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT Travel Edition

Long motorway stretches and winding roads call for different priorities when setting up the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT Travel Edition. As a sports tourer, it suits both longer journeys and shorter rides where the route matters more than the destination. Wind protection, comfortable contact points and protection against stationary drops are therefore useful places to start, rather than focusing purely on appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT Travel Edition

• Screens: A screen helps direct airflow away from you on sustained motorway runs. For this kind of touring, the useful balance depends on your height and normal riding position, especially when fast connecting roads make up a large part of the day.
• Protectors, crash bobbins and crash bars: These aim to reduce damage to exposed areas in a stationary drop. They are worth considering for trips involving unfamiliar parking spaces, fuel stops and low-speed manoeuvres at the end of a long ride.
• Levers: Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers engage with the controls. On a sports tourer that moves between winding roads and town traffic, a comfortable hand position matters during repeated braking and clutch use throughout the journey.
• Footrests: Your feet need a comfortable resting point during motorway miles and a secure-feeling platform on bends. Footrests deserve attention when preparing this Suzuki for mixed touring, particularly if you regularly shift your position as the roads become more demanding.
• Phone mounts: Keeping navigation directions in view is useful when a touring route takes you onto unfamiliar roads. Position the mount so the phone does not obscure the instruments or restrict handlebar movement, including when manoeuvring at stops.

For mostly long-distance riding, put wind protection and riding position first. If your trips favour twisting roads, give equal thought to foot support and how comfortably you can operate the controls.
