Accessories for the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX Sport

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX Sport brings together sporty road riding and touring. That mix gives you two priorities when choosing accessories: feeling comfortable and in control on winding roads, and staying comfortable as the miles build up. Wind protection and the points where your hands and feet meet the bike are useful places to start.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX Sport

• Screens: worth considering when a day's ride includes motorway stretches between more interesting roads. A screen helps redirect airflow, while its height and shape matter for keeping a clear view ahead without having to adopt an unnatural riding position.
• Protectors, crash bungs and bars: help limit damage to the areas they cover during a scrape or low-speed fall. They make particular sense for touring days that involve unfamiliar parking areas, awkward entrances or manoeuvring the bike on a slope.
• Levers: repeated braking and gear changes on twisty routes keep your hands busy. Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers meet the controls, making this a worthwhile area to consider when preparing the Suzuki for longer days in the saddle.
• Footpegs: foot support matters both when linking bends and when covering distance. For this bike's mix of sporty riding and touring, look for a balance between a comfortable platform for your boots and a position that avoids putting unnecessary strain on your legs.
• Phone mounts: useful if your phone provides navigation on unfamiliar routes. Positioning matters: the instruments should remain visible and the handlebars must move freely. Set your route before moving off, and stop somewhere safe if you need to make changes.

For rides that mix bends with distance, consider the screen, levers and footpegs together rather than separately: each contributes to how comfortable you feel as the day goes on.
