Accessories for the Suzuki RM85

The Suzuki RM85 is a motocross bike built for riding off road. On a dirt track, the surface can change through a session, while braking zones, ruts and jump landings place different demands on the rider and bike. That makes brakes and suspension more relevant here than accessories intended for commuting or touring. For the 2002 RM85, these are the two areas covered by the accessories on this page.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki RM85

Motocross riding involves repeated changes of pace and a surface that rarely stays smooth for long. Approaching a corner, crossing a rough section and landing a jump each bring either braking or suspension into focus. The available accessory types address those separate parts of a lap.

• Brakes: braking zones come around again and again on a motocross track, often with loose ground or ruts under the wheels. Brake accessories are relevant to the way you slow the RM85 before a turn or an obstacle, where controlling the braking matters as much as the moment you apply it. For riders concentrating on their approach to corners, this is a natural area to consider.
• Suspension: over bumps, through ruts and on jump landings, suspension shapes how the bike feels as the track changes beneath it. Suspension accessories are particularly relevant if your riding takes in heavily marked sections or quick transitions between obstacles and corners. They concern a different part of the ride from braking, but one you notice repeatedly over a lap.

Braking and Öhlins are among the accessory brands represented for the RM85. With the focus on brakes and suspension, the choice here follows the demands of riding the bike on dirt rather than preparing it for road use.
