Accessories for the Suzuki SV1000S

The Suzuki SV1000S brings a sporting approach to road riding, whether that means a favourite stretch of bends, the daily commute or a weekend away. Useful accessories balance comfort at the controls with wind protection and space for your belongings. The priorities shift depending on whether you spend most of your time on twisting roads or cover longer distances between overnight stops.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki SV1000S

• Screens: A worthwhile consideration when motorway miles separate the roads you really want to ride. Screen height and shape influence how airflow reaches your upper body, with different needs when sitting more upright on a long journey or adopting a tucked riding position.
• Levers: Frequent clutch use in traffic and repeated braking on winding roads make a comfortable reach valuable. Levers that suit your hand help you operate the controls without stretching your fingers or unnecessarily shifting your grip, particularly when a ride mixes town and open road.
• Footrests: These provide support for your feet through bends and influence how your legs sit on the bike. For sporty road use, secure footing needs to go hand in hand with a knee position you can live with over a full day's riding.
• Protectors, crash bungs and bars: Everyday use can involve awkward parking spaces and tight, low-speed manoeuvres as well as open roads. Depending on the component, these accessories can help keep particular areas of the bike from contacting the ground during a stationary or low-speed fall.
• Luggage: Cases make room for clothing and other essentials on overnight trips without carrying everything on your back. They are particularly useful when your SV1000S serves both as a bike for short, spirited outings and transport for longer weekends away.

For rides centred on bends, focus on your contact points with the bike. As motorway distances and nights away increase, wind protection and luggage become more important parts of the setup.
