Accessories for the Suzuki TL1000R

The Suzuki TL1000R is a sports bike suited to winding-road rides and occasional track use. Choosing accessories for it means thinking about your riding position, wind exposure and the parts most vulnerable to damage. For a bike that still spends plenty of time on public roads, practical improvements to protection and the controls deserve attention alongside changes to its appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Suzuki TL1000R

• Screens: wind protection matters on the motorway journey to your favourite riding roads, not just during the ride itself. On the TL1000R, screen coverage is worth considering from both your normal road-riding position and a lower tuck over the tank.
• Protectors and crash protection: these aim to limit damage to the areas they cover. If your TL1000R combines weekend road rides with track days, protecting exposed parts is a sensible priority before cosmetic changes, although no accessory can prevent every consequence of a fall.
• Levers: repeated braking and gear changes on twisting roads put the focus on how your fingers meet the controls. Replacing a damaged lever or finding a more comfortable shape can address an important contact point without making appearance the main reason for the change.
• Fasteners: keeping fixings in good condition is particularly relevant when fairing panels are removed for cleaning or maintenance. On a sports bike such as the TL1000R, visible fasteners also contribute to a tidy finish when you are refreshing its appearance.
• Mirrors: a road-going TL1000R needs a useful rearward view through town and on faster connecting roads. Its sports riding position makes it important to consider what you can see from your usual stance, rather than judging mirrors solely by their shape.

For mixed road and track use, keep the two sets of priorities distinct. Wind comfort and rearward visibility still matter on the road, even when you prefer a more track-focused look.
