Accessories for the Triumph Thruxton

The Triumph Thruxton brings café racer character to weekend rides and winding roads, but it can just as readily be part of a daily commute. For the 2004–2015 models covered here, the riding position and exposure to wind are useful starting points when choosing accessories. The aim is to suit the journeys you actually make while keeping the bike's classic look in mind.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Thruxton

• Levers: brake and clutch operation matters whether you are approaching a bend or moving through slow traffic. Lever shape and reach influence how your hands work the controls, making them worth considering on a Thruxton used for both weekday journeys and weekend rides.
• Handlebars: a central part of the café racer riding position. Your choice affects how far you lean forwards and how much weight rests on your hands. Think about the balance between time spent on open roads and frequent stops around town.
• Screens: a screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your upper body on longer road sections. On the Thruxton, it is as much about balancing wind protection with visual proportions as it is about preparing for a weekend away.
• Mirrors: these can change the appearance of the cockpit while serving an important purpose in urban traffic. Position matters: you need a useful view behind you rather than one dominated by your arms, particularly when your Thruxton doubles as a commuter.
• Suspension: worth attention if winding routes are the main attraction of your rides. Suspension components offer a way to tailor the bike's response to your use, with comfort over uneven surfaces and control through bends both part of the decision.

For regular town use, start with your posture and the controls you operate most often. If your rides involve longer stretches of open road, wind protection and suspension become more prominent considerations.
