Accessories for the Triumph Thruxton 1200

The Triumph Thruxton 1200 brings café racer style to weekend outings and winding roads, with town riding part of the picture too. The most useful accessories depend on how those journeys balance out. Wind protection matters more when a ride includes longer stretches of fast road, while levers and footpegs deserve attention when refining how you sit and interact with the bike.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Thruxton 1200

• Screens: a screen helps reduce wind exposure on the motorway stretches between home and your favourite riding roads. On a café racer, its size also affects the overall look, so wind protection and the Thruxton’s visual character need to work together.
• Levers: the way your fingers meet the brake and clutch levers matters both through a sequence of bends and in stop-start traffic. They are a useful focus for a Thruxton that splits its time between spirited weekend rides and weekday town journeys.
• Footpegs: foot support plays a part in how you position yourself on winding roads. For café racer riding, this is worth considering alongside your hand position, particularly when you want a sporty riding posture that remains comfortable over a longer outing.
• Protectors: these help limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall, including mishaps while parking or manoeuvring around town. Their appearance matters here too: protection can be part of a considered café racer build rather than a purely practical afterthought.
• Mirrors: changing the mirrors can alter the look around the controls while retaining their essential rearward-view function. If your Thruxton regularly deals with urban traffic, a useful view behind deserves as much attention as a clean café racer silhouette.

For mixed road use, start with riding comfort and wind protection. Cosmetic finishing touches can follow once the bike suits the journeys you actually make.
