Accessories for the Triumph Thruxton 400

Accessories for the Triumph Thruxton 400 can help you tailor the bike to weekday journeys, weekend road rides or a mix of both. For stop-start city use, controls and protection against stationary drops deserve attention. On longer outings, wind exposure and the way your hands and feet sit on the bike become more important. Start with the aspects you notice most on your regular routes rather than changing everything at once.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Thruxton 400

• Screens: a useful consideration if your road rides involve stretches of dual carriageway. A screen helps redirect airflow, so think about how much shelter you want on those faster sections rather than choosing purely by how it looks on your Thruxton 400.
• Levers: frequent use of the controls makes lever shape and finger placement particularly relevant in town. If your Triumph handles the daily commute, comfortable operation at repeated junctions and traffic lights is a practical starting point when considering a change.
• Crash bungs and bars: worth considering when daily riding means parking on the street or manoeuvring in tight spaces. They are intended to limit damage to the areas they protect in certain falls, rather than prevent every mark or broken part.
• Footrests: where your feet rest matters on both winding roads and longer journeys. Treat footrest choice as part of the overall riding position on your Thruxton 400, alongside your hand position, rather than viewing each contact point in isolation.
• Mirrors: for a bike used in both urban traffic and on open roads, a useful rearward view takes priority over appearance. Their position relative to your shoulders matters when checking traffic before changing lanes or joining another road.

If a handlebar change is also on your list, consider it before settling on levers and mirrors. Your hand position, access to the controls and rearward view need to work together.
