Accessories for the Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert Edition

The Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert Edition is an adventure bike suited to touring, exploring back roads and mixing tarmac with unpaved tracks. Those uses put wind protection, riding position and protection against low-speed drops ahead of purely cosmetic changes. Your priorities will depend on the journey: long motorway stretches call for attention to airflow, while time on trails makes foot support and protective accessories more relevant.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert Edition

• Screens: useful for reducing exposure to the wind when a touring day starts with a lengthy motorway run. On the Tiger, the aim is protection that suits your height and seated riding position, rather than simply choosing the tallest screen available.
• Protectors and crash bars: worth considering for trips that include gravel tracks, uneven parking areas or awkward low-speed manoeuvres. They help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike goes down, although no protective accessory can prevent every consequence of a fall.
• Footrests: relevant both to hours spent seated on the road and to standing up on unpaved sections. For mixed-surface journeys on this Tiger, the support under your boots and the position of your feet matter when you repeatedly switch between those riding positions.
• Levers: shape and reach affect how comfortably you operate the controls throughout a long day. They deserve attention if your touring includes town centres and slow sections as well as open roads, with frequent clutch and brake use between the faster stretches.
• Phone mounts: a practical addition when navigation is part of exploring unfamiliar roads. For touring on the Tiger, positioning matters: the screen should be easy to glance at without obscuring the instruments or getting in the way as you turn the handlebars.
