Accessories for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR

The Triumph Tiger 1200 XR is a touring-oriented adventure bike, well suited to road trips, weekend breaks and longer journeys. Preparing one for that use means thinking about wind protection, luggage and comfort over several hours in the saddle. Your priorities will also shift depending on whether you ride solo, carry a pillion or regularly combine motorway miles with winding roads.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Tiger 1200 XR

• Screens: help manage airflow on the longer road and motorway sections that often form part of a Tiger trip. Consider coverage in relation to your height and riding position, while keeping a clear view of the road through bends.
• Luggage: gives clothing and touring essentials a dedicated place on multi-day rides. When travelling with a pillion, cases are particularly useful because they provide carrying space without relying on bags strapped across the seat your passenger needs.
• Protectors, crash bungs and crash bars: help shield different areas of the bike during a low-speed fall. They are worth considering for a touring Tiger that regularly involves manoeuvring with luggage, parking at unfamiliar stops and negotiating tight spaces on arrival.
• Footrests: deserve attention when a day's ride involves several hours on the bike. Their shape and position affect foot support and leg placement, which matter when your Tiger journey switches between steady motorway stretches and more involved riding on twisty roads.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation directions visible when exploring unfamiliar routes. For touring on the Tiger, this avoids leaving the phone tucked away in luggage when you need to follow an itinerary; make route changes only when safely stopped.

If you regularly travel two-up, plan luggage space and rider and pillion comfort together. That gives you a useful starting point before turning to wind protection for longer stretches between stops.
