Accessories for the Triumph Tiger 1200 XRx

The Triumph Tiger 1200 XRx is a touring-focused adventure bike, well suited to road trips, weekends away and travelling with a pillion. A ride that combines motorway miles with winding country roads calls for more than luggage alone. Wind protection, comfortable contact points and protection for exposed areas all deserve attention when planning how to equip your Tiger.

What riders usually fit to the Triumph Tiger 1200 XRx

• Windscreens: particularly useful on motorway stretches, where prolonged exposure to the wind can become tiring. Your height and seated position influence where the airflow reaches you, so choosing a screen for long-distance riding is not simply a matter of finding the tallest one.
• Panniers: help organise clothing and other essentials for several nights away. When touring with a pillion, allow for both riders' belongings and keep things needed at roadside stops separate from items you will only unpack at your overnight accommodation.
• Crash bobbins and bars: can help limit damage to the areas they protect if the bike tips over at a standstill. They are worth considering for loaded touring, especially when parking and making low-speed manoeuvres in unfamiliar places along the route.
• Footrests: provide an important contact point during long days in the saddle. For the Tiger's road-touring role, a comfortable footing should work with your seated posture while allowing you to operate the foot controls without holding your feet at awkward angles.
• Phone mounts: make sense on trips involving unfamiliar roads, overnight stops and planned waypoints. Having navigation in view can help you follow the route, but set up your destination and stops before moving off rather than handling the phone while riding.

Think about your usual trips before planning luggage capacity: a solo weekend and a longer two-up tour place different demands on the space you need.
