Accessories for the Yamaha FJR1300AS

Long road journeys are a natural fit for the Yamaha FJR1300AS. As a sports tourer, it suits days that mix motorway miles with winding roads, whether you ride solo or carry a pillion. That makes wind protection and a comfortable riding position sensible priorities, alongside protection for the bike when parking and manoeuvring away from home.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha FJR1300AS

• Screens: Managing airflow becomes important when much of your day is spent covering distance at motorway speeds. A screen helps redirect wind away from the rider; on the FJR1300AS, the useful balance is coverage from your normal seated position and a clear view of the road.
• Handlebar accessories: This is an area to consider when tailoring the riding position for long days. On a sports tourer used for both sweeping bends and steady motorway riding, a natural reach to the bars matters more than a change made purely for appearance.
• Footrests: Hours in the saddle make the relationship between foot support and knee position worth considering. For the FJR1300AS's touring role, these contact points deserve attention alongside the handlebars, rather than treating comfort as something that concerns only the upper body.
• Crash protectors and bars: These aim to help limit damage in a fall, rather than prevent every mark or broken part. They make sense for touring that involves frequent stops, unfamiliar parking areas and low-speed manoeuvres at the end of a long riding day.

Choosing for your FJR1300AS model year

The Yamaha FJR1300AS has changed over the years, with versions covering 2006-2012, 2013-2019 and 2020. Parts such as screens and footrests therefore do not fit every version interchangeably. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.

For distance-focused riding, address wind exposure and riding position first, then consider protection for the stops between stretches of open road.
