Accessories for YAMAHA FZ1

Accessories for the Yamaha FZ1

The Yamaha FZ1 brings a sporting focus to naked-bike riding, whether you spend your time on winding roads or commuting through town. Those uses call for different priorities when choosing accessories. Wind protection becomes more relevant on longer journeys, while your riding position and the feel of the controls matter throughout a week of mixed riding.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha FZ1

• Screens: a useful addition when your favourite roads involve a motorway journey to reach them. On a naked bike such as the FZ1, a screen helps divert airflow away from your torso. Its height and shape influence how much shelter it provides during longer stretches on open roads.
• Handlebars and levers: these help tailor the relationship between your hands, riding position and controls. An FZ1 used for both commuting and weekend rides benefits from comfortable hand placement and suitable lever reach, rather than an arrangement chosen solely with sporty riding in mind.
• Protectors and crash bungs: intended to help limit damage to particular areas if the bike falls or tips over. They make sense on an everyday FZ1, where parking manoeuvres, frequent stops and moving the bike around tight spaces are regular parts of ownership alongside the riding itself.
• Footrests: secure foot placement matters on a twisting road, but knee bend also deserves attention when a short outing becomes a full day away. For a mixed-use FZ1, consider how the position provided by replacement footrests will suit both active riding and longer periods in the saddle.
• Number plate holders: an option for giving the rear of the bike a cleaner visual finish. They suit riders who want to emphasise the FZ1's sporting naked-bike appearance, making them a styling choice rather than a change aimed at wind protection or riding comfort.
