Accessories for the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer

The Yamaha FZ1 Fazer brings a sporting character to a road bike that also suits daily commuting and longer trips. Choosing accessories is therefore about more than preparing for twisty roads. Wind protection and riding position deserve attention too, especially when your usual ride mixes town traffic, motorway stretches and a full afternoon away from home.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer

A useful Fazer setup supports both sides of its role: enjoyable riding on winding roads and comfort over the less exciting miles in between.

• Screens: help redirect airflow on motorway journeys and longer weekend rides. For a Fazer used across both fast roads and tighter bends, screen shape and height affect how much wind reaches your upper body and helmet when you settle into your normal riding position.
• Handlebars and levers: the bars influence reach and arm position, while the levers provide your contact with the clutch and front brake. Those details matter when the same bike handles repeated stops in weekday traffic and sustained riding on open roads at the weekend.
• Protectors, crash bungs and bars: aim to reduce damage to the areas they cover if the bike falls. They are particularly relevant when road rides also involve tight urban parking and low-speed manoeuvres, rather than only the flowing bends you set out to enjoy.
• Footrests: give your feet support under braking and as you shift position through bends. On a Fazer used for longer journeys as well, consider that support alongside leg position: a riding stance focused entirely on sporty outings may be less comfortable over several hours.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation visible when a weekend route takes you onto unfamiliar roads. Position the phone without obscuring the instruments or restricting access to the controls, and set your destination before moving off.

For a mix of commuting and touring, start with your contact points and wind protection. Cosmetic changes can follow once the bike suits the journeys you actually make.
