Accessories for the Yamaha MT-07 Pure

The Yamaha MT-07 Pure suits the everyday commute as well as a weekend spent on winding roads. As a naked bike, it invites a practical approach to accessories: wind protection for faster stretches, protection against low-speed mishaps around town, and contact points that suit the rider. What earns its place depends on where you spend most of your riding time.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha MT-07 Pure

• Screens: A useful addition when your commute involves a motorway or your weekend routes include longer, faster sections. A screen can redirect some of the airflow away from the rider, although the coverage depends on its shape and height.
• Protectors and crash bobbins: Regular parking and tight manoeuvres make protection worth considering on a town-going MT-07 Pure. These accessories can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a stationary drop, rather than guaranteeing protection in every fall.
• Handlebars and levers: Stop-start traffic keeps your hands busy with braking, clutch work and steering. These contact points deserve attention on a daily rider: the reach to the controls and your wrist position matter more than simply giving the cockpit a different look.
• Footrests: Foot placement is part of the riding position, particularly on winding roads or longer days out. Consider how your legs sit in relation to your hands; a more tucked-up position is not automatically a more comfortable one for commuting.
• Number plate holders: Often chosen to give the rear of a naked bike a tidier appearance. On the MT-07 Pure, this is primarily a styling change, making it a different priority from a screen or changes to the riding position.

For mixed use, plan around the journey you make most often. A setup focused on a short urban commute may call for different priorities from one intended for full days on country roads.
