Accessories for the Yamaha MT-07 Tracer

The Yamaha MT-07 Tracer suits riders who want to combine everyday journeys with winding-road weekends and longer trips. Its road-touring focus makes wind protection and luggage particularly useful additions. What deserves priority depends on your riding: regular motorway miles bring different needs from a short commute followed by the occasional day away.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha MT-07 Tracer

• Windscreens: a useful starting point if motorway stretches make up a substantial part of your touring. They help redirect airflow around the rider on sustained journeys. Your height and riding position matter when deciding which screen shape and height will suit you.
• Luggage: provides room for clothing and other essentials on overnight trips, while also serving a practical purpose on the commute. For a Tracer doing both jobs, think about your usual load rather than planning solely around the longest holiday of the year.
• Crash bungs and bars: are intended to help limit damage in a fall or stationary tip-over. They are worth considering for touring use, when parking a loaded bike or turning it around at walking pace can demand extra care.
• Levers: replacement brake and clutch levers offer a way to find a more comfortable grip at the controls. That is particularly relevant if your Tracer spends weekdays in stop-start traffic before heading out for longer rides on twisty roads at the weekend.
• Phone mounts: give your phone a secure mounting point when it serves as a sat-nav on unfamiliar routes. Positioning matters on a touring bike: keep the instruments visible, and set up or change your route before departure or during a stop.

For regular two-up trips, plan luggage space around both riders’ belongings. If most of your mileage is solo motorway riding, addressing wind exposure may be more useful than adding carrying capacity you rarely need.
