Accessories for the Yamaha MT-09 Sport Tracker

The Yamaha MT-09 Sport Tracker is a naked bike suited to both everyday journeys and weekends on winding roads. How you split your time between those rides helps decide what to fit. Urban use puts protection and a comfortable riding position high on the list, while longer road rides make wind exposure and support through your hands and feet more noticeable.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha MT-09 Sport Tracker

• Screens: help divert some of the airflow away from your upper body. That is useful when reaching your favourite bends involves a motorway stretch. On the MT-09 Sport Tracker, the aim is to balance wind protection with a screen that looks at home on a naked bike.
• Protectors and crash bars: help shield exposed areas from scrapes or damage in a low-speed fall. They are worth prioritising on a daily commuter, particularly when your routine involves tight parking spaces, awkward turns or moving the bike around by hand.
• Handlebars: affect arm position and how you support your upper body. For a mix of town traffic and twisting roads, a comfortable reach matters: you need room to steer at low speed without holding your shoulders or wrists at an awkward angle.
• Footrests: provide support for your boots and help shape your riding position alongside the seat and handlebars. Secure footing matters when shifting your weight through bends, while the amount of knee bend becomes more relevant as weekend outings grow longer.
• Number plate holders: change the appearance of the rear, an area that stands out on a naked bike. This is primarily a styling choice rather than a comfort upgrade, so it makes sense after you have addressed the riding position and protection your regular journeys call for.
