Accessories for the Yamaha TMAX 500

The Yamaha TMAX 500 is a sporty scooter suited to everyday commuting as well as rides out of town. A journey through busy streets puts different demands on the rider from a stretch of motorway or a weekend on winding roads. Useful additions therefore centre on wind protection, comfort at the controls and carrying what you need, rather than treating every journey as a short urban hop.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha TMAX 500

• Windscreens: wind protection becomes a priority when your commute takes you onto a ring road or motorway. A screen helps reduce airflow against your upper body, making it a relevant addition to a TMAX used for longer journeys as well as town riding.
• Handlebars: hand position matters when you switch between slow traffic and flowing country roads. The handlebar is an important part of your riding posture, so this area deserves attention if your TMAX covers both short daily trips and longer weekend outings.
• Levers: junctions, traffic lights and queues mean frequent braking on an urban commute. Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers sit on the controls, which is particularly relevant when your scooter is your everyday transport rather than an occasional weekend ride.
• Security locks: commuting often means leaving your TMAX parked on the street for several hours, while errands bring shorter stops. How you carry and fit a lock matters in this routine: it needs to be practical to use at each destination, not just overnight.
• Luggage: cases provide room for work essentials, shopping or the kit you take away for a weekend. For a TMAX that handles both commuting and leisure trips, extra carrying space reduces reliance on a rucksack and becomes especially useful when a passenger joins you.
