Accessories for the Yamaha Tracer 9 Y-AMT

The Yamaha Tracer 9 Y-AMT is a sport tourer suited to long-distance riding, weekend routes and everyday journeys. Accessories should reflect the balance between those uses: motorway miles put wind protection high on the list, while nights away and travelling with a pillion make luggage space and sustained riding comfort more important.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha Tracer 9 Y-AMT

• Screens: Long motorway stretches make wind pressure more noticeable than a short ride across town. A screen can help reduce that exposure on touring days, but its coverage needs to work with your height and normal riding position rather than simply looking taller.
• Luggage cases: For overnight stops and longer holidays, cases give clothing and personal belongings a home without keeping everything in a backpack. Two-up trips make shared luggage space particularly relevant, whereas a solo commute usually involves carrying a rather different daily load.
• Crash bungs and bars: These can help limit damage in a fall, although they cannot prevent every impact from reaching the bike. Touring involves more than open roads: unfamiliar parking areas, low-speed manoeuvres and frequent stops all make this protection worth considering.
• Footrests: Foot support matters when a day combines steady cruising with winding roads. The shape and contact surface affect how your boots sit, so this is an area worth considering for the riding position you hold through hours in the saddle.
• Phone mounts: Navigation is especially useful when your route takes the Tracer beyond familiar roads. A mount provides a fixed place for the phone rather than leaving it in a pocket; position it clear of the instruments and make route adjustments while stopped.
