Accessories for the Yamaha Why 50

The Yamaha Why 50 is a scooter suited to everyday journeys around town. That might mean threading your way through busy streets, stopping several times and spending part of the ride on more open roads. Accessories for this sort of use are less about preparing for a long tour and more about making familiar journeys easier: protecting the scooter, keeping directions in view and taking some of the wind off the ride. What matters most will depend on whether your usual trip is a quick errand or a longer ride across town.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha Why 50

These three types of accessory address different parts of daily riding on this scooter:

• Protectors: town riding involves parking, low-speed manoeuvres and squeezing daily journeys into whatever space is available. Protectors are worth considering if your Why 50 is parked and moved several times a day, as they help look after the areas they are designed to cover.
• Phone mounts: useful when directions are part of your journey, particularly if you take different routes across town. A mounted phone keeps navigation where you can glance at it rather than reaching for it at each stop. Your attention still belongs on the road, not on the screen.
• Screens: offer some shelter from the airflow at the front of the scooter. For a Why 50 that sees both stop-start streets and clearer stretches of urban road, a screen can make time in the saddle more comfortable when the journey runs longer than planned.

You'll find these accessory types for the Yamaha Why 50 here, including options from Puig. Consider how often you park, whether you rely on navigation and how far you normally ride; those details help you decide which addition is likely to be most useful first.
