Accessories for the Yamaha X-City 250

The Yamaha X-City 250 is a scooter suited to getting around town and making journeys on faster roads. That mix of riding shapes what is worth fitting: security matters when it is parked between errands, while shelter from wind and cold can make a longer commute more comfortable. A rider crossing town each day may therefore have different priorities from someone who regularly travels further afield.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha X-City 250

It helps to think about where your X-City 250 spends most of its time: on the move, parked outside or waiting for the next ride. The following accessories address those different parts of everyday scooter use:

• Locks: useful when the X-City 250 is left on the street during the working day or parked at several stops around town. Keeping a lock close to hand makes it easier to secure the scooter even on short visits.
• Screens: offer more shelter from oncoming air, particularly when your regular route includes faster stretches rather than only low-speed streets.
• Covers and leg covers: a leg cover can help on cold commutes, while a scooter cover is worth considering when the bike spends time parked outdoors between rides.
• Handlebar accessories: this is an area to consider if you want to adapt the riding position to frequent steering, stopping and setting off in town traffic.
• Exhausts: appeal to riders who want to change the sound or appearance of their X-City 250, including those who use it as their regular transport.
• Filters: belong on the list when maintaining a scooter used for repeated daily journeys. They serve a different purpose from wind protection or security, but are still relevant to keeping up with regular use.

For a route with plenty of open road, shelter may be the first consideration. If your day involves frequent stops and street parking, it may make more sense to start with a lock.
