Accessories for YAMAHA X-MAX 400

Accessories for your Yamaha XMAX 400

The Yamaha XMAX 400 suits everyday city journeys as well as trips beyond town. For a scooter used throughout the working week, useful additions are those that address wind exposure, frequent braking and time spent parked outside. Your priorities will differ depending on whether the daily route is mostly busy streets or includes a longer stretch of open road.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XMAX 400

• Windscreens: help deflect airflow on faster roads, making them particularly relevant when your commute extends beyond the city centre. Wind protection deserves more attention if you regularly spend sustained periods riding on exposed routes.
• Brake levers: are worth considering for stop-start journeys with frequent braking at junctions and traffic lights. Lever shape and reach affect where your fingers sit when operating the brakes during repeated urban stops.
• Protectors: daily scooter use often involves manoeuvring into parking spaces or moving around a garage. If the bike tips over during a slow manoeuvre, protectors help limit damage to the areas they cover.
• Locks: add a security barrier when the XMAX 400 is left on the street. They are especially relevant to commuters parking for the working day and riders making several stops around town.
• Covers and leg covers: serve different parts of the daily routine. A leg cover provides warmth during cold-weather journeys, while a bike cover shelters the scooter when it is parked between rides.

Choosing parts for your XMAX 400's year

The XMAX 400 has changed over the years, so the 2013-2017 and 2018-2023 versions do not always take the same accessories. Handlebar parts, windscreens and certain locks are examples where fit can differ. Choose your scooter's year on this page to display only the accessories that fit your version.
