Accessories for the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F

The Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F suits riders who want a road bike for the working week without giving up weekend trips. Its sport-touring character makes wind protection, comfortable contact points and protection against everyday knocks sensible priorities. The right balance depends on whether your regular riding involves busy streets, motorway miles or longer outings on winding roads.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F

• Screens: worth prioritising when your commute includes a motorway stretch or your weekend rides last several hours. A screen redirects airflow away from your upper body, while its height and profile affect where that airflow meets your shoulders and helmet.
• Protectors and crash protection: help reduce damage to the areas they cover in a stationary drop or low-speed spill. On a bike used for both commuting and leisure, moving around a tight garage or manoeuvring into a parking space makes this a practical consideration.
• Levers: frequent clutch use in stop-start traffic puts the way your fingers meet the controls into focus. Changing the levers offers a way to alter that contact, particularly when the same bike takes you through town during the week and onto twisty roads at weekends.
• Footrests: your feet need a comfortable, secure point of contact over a long road ride. Footrest shape and surface influence how your boots sit, whether you are holding a steady position on a main road or shifting your footing through a series of bends.
• Phone mounts: useful for keeping navigation directions visible when exploring unfamiliar roads or finding an address in town. Set the route before you leave, so the phone can provide guidance without needing to be handled while riding.

For regular longer journeys, wind management is a sensible starting point. If most of your mileage is urban, protection for parking mishaps and comfortable interaction with the controls deserve more attention.
