Accessories for the Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Ténéré

Long touring days are a natural fit for the Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Ténéré, an adventure bike suited to covering distance and exploring beyond the usual roads. Luggage space, wind protection and comfort over several hours shape a useful accessory setup. For riders who also venture onto unpaved tracks, protection and support when standing deserve attention too.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XT1200ZE Super Ténéré

• Screens: useful when a touring route starts with a long motorway stretch. A screen helps divert airflow away from your body, but the coverage you need depends on your height and seated position, not simply on choosing a larger screen.
• Luggage: gives clothing and touring essentials a place on the bike rather than on your back. It becomes particularly valuable on trips with a pillion, when packing for two means thinking carefully about the space available and how the load is distributed.
• Crash bars and protectors: help limit damage from low-speed falls. They make sense on an adventure tourer used for loaded manoeuvres, uneven parking areas and occasional tracks, where losing your footing can turn a brief stop into a dropped bike.
• Footpegs: provide support through long seated stretches and when standing on unpaved sections. For Super Ténéré riders mixing road touring with tracks, the way your boots sit on the pegs matters in both positions, rather than only during motorway miles.
• Phone mounts: keep navigation in view when a journey takes you through unfamiliar towns and along minor roads. They are useful for following a planned itinerary and finding overnight stops; enter destinations or make route changes while safely stopped.

For mostly tarmac touring, wind protection and luggage are sensible starting points. If tracks feature regularly in your journeys, give protective accessories and foot support a greater share of attention.
