Accessories for the Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré

The Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré is an adventure bike suited to road journeys, gravel tracks and trips that carry on beyond the tarmac. Setting one up means balancing different demands: wind protection for the miles between destinations, protection when the route gets rough and a riding position that works both seated and standing. Your usual mix of roads and trails helps decide where to start.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XT660Z Ténéré

• Screens: help deflect airflow on longer road sections, making wind protection a useful priority for touring. If your Ténéré regularly heads onto gravel as well, screen height needs to balance shelter on the road with a clear view of the track ahead.
• Protectors and crash bars: are worth considering for journeys involving uneven ground, slow manoeuvres and unpaved routes. They help limit damage from knocks or falls, putting practical protection ahead of cosmetic changes when you are preparing the bike for adventure travel.
• Handlebars and levers: influence how comfortably you reach the controls on the road and when standing on the pegs. Adapting the cockpit to your posture is particularly useful on routes where winding tarmac gives way to tracks and your riding position changes repeatedly.
• Footrests: provide an important platform when you spend sections of a trail standing up. Their position and contact area matter when riding in adventure boots, helping you establish a comfortable foothold for long days with frequent changes between seated and standing riding.
• Phone mounts: keep your phone secured for navigation during road journeys. On trips that combine unfamiliar lanes with gravel tracks, a mount gives the route display a dedicated place rather than leaving the phone in a pocket, ready for checking your itinerary at stops.
