Accessories for the Yamaha XV950

The Yamaha XV950 is a cruiser suited to relaxed road rides, weekend outings and getting around town. Setting yours up means balancing comfort with the look you want to achieve. A screen becomes more useful as you spend longer on open roads, while mirrors and a number plate holder offer ways to personalise its appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XV950

• Screens: Worth considering when your XV950 regularly takes you beyond town and onto exposed roads. They help reduce wind pressure on your upper body, while a smaller screen offers a way to add some shelter without making it the main visual feature at the front.
• Protectors: Useful for a cruiser that also handles daily journeys, parking manoeuvres and slow-moving traffic. They help limit damage to the areas they cover in a knock or fall, adding a practical consideration to an XV950 build focused on appearance.
• Footpegs: Pay attention to foot support if your riding ranges from short commutes to leisurely afternoons on country roads. On the XV950, footpegs address a contact point that matters for comfort and can also contribute to the overall custom look.
• Mirrors: A noticeable part of the handlebar silhouette when personalising a cruiser. For an XV950 ridden through busy streets, a useful rearward view deserves as much attention as styling, particularly when keeping track of surrounding traffic and preparing to change lanes.
• Number plate holders: These let you change how the plate sits within the XV950’s rear-end styling. Their main role in a custom build is visual, making them a different priority from accessories intended to make longer road rides more comfortable.

If weekend outings are turning into longer days in the saddle, address wind exposure and foot support before concentrating entirely on cosmetic changes.
