Accessories for the Yamaha XV950 Racer

The Yamaha XV950 Racer brings café racer styling to a custom motorcycle. For a bike used around town and on weekend road rides, useful modifications balance appearance with the things you notice in the saddle: wind exposure, foot support and your view of surrounding traffic. That gives you a practical starting point without making every change about looks alone.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XV950 Racer

• Screens: worth considering when your weekend routes involve longer stretches of open road. A screen can help deflect some of the airflow, making wind protection part of your XV950 Racer setup rather than focusing solely on its café racer appearance.
• Protectors: a practical addition for a custom bike that regularly negotiates busy streets and parking spaces. They help limit damage to the areas they cover from minor knocks or a stationary drop, adding a useful safeguard for everyday urban use.
• Footpegs: foot support becomes more noticeable as a short ride turns into an afternoon on winding roads. On the XV950 Racer, the shape and contact surface of the pegs deserve consideration alongside how well their finish suits the bike.
• Mirrors: a visible styling change that also matters in town. If your café racer spends weekdays in traffic, a useful rearward view when changing lanes or joining a road should carry as much weight as the shape of the mirrors.
• Number plate holders: a way to tidy the rear-end appearance and complement the café racer theme. Their main contribution is visual, making them a different priority from accessories intended to improve foot support or provide some shelter from the wind.

For road-focused use, start with wind exposure and foot support. If most of your riding is urban, give protection and rearward visibility attention before concentrating on cosmetic finishing touches.
