Accessories for the Yamaha XV950R

The Yamaha XV950R suits relaxed cruiser riding, from trips across town to unhurried weekends on country roads. Choosing accessories for it means balancing practical comfort with the custom look you want to create. A bike used for longer outings benefits from attention to wind exposure and contact points, while a short-distance build may put more emphasis on the appearance of the bars and rear end.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha XV950R

• Screens: Longer stretches on open roads make wind protection worth considering, even when touring is not your main aim. A screen helps redirect airflow away from your torso, while its shape and size influence the XV950R's cruiser styling.
• Protectors: Daily town use involves frequent parking and low-speed manoeuvres, where a drop can leave unwanted damage. Protectors help shield the areas they cover, making them a practical addition to a custom bike that gets ridden rather than simply admired.
• Footpegs: Foot support matters when a short weekend ride turns into an afternoon on the road. Replacement footpegs let you address this contact point while also changing a visible detail along the sides of the XV950R.
• Mirrors: On rides that mix urban traffic with country roads, a useful rearward view remains important. Mirrors also have a noticeable effect on the outline of a cruiser's handlebars, bringing a practical component into the styling of your build.
• Number plate holders: These can change the presentation of the rear end when a cleaner-looking outline is part of your plan. They suit an XV950R build focused on custom styling rather than adding equipment for longer-distance comfort.

For regular road outings, decide how much wind protection you want before concentrating on finishing touches. For shorter local rides, the mirrors and rear-end detailing may play a bigger part in your plans.
