Accessories for the Yamaha YFZ450

The Yamaha YFZ450 is a sports quad made for off-road riding. On a dirt track, the surface can change between corners, with ruts, bumps and loose patches all affecting how you ride. That makes braking and suspension sensible areas to focus on when looking at accessories for this Yamaha. One affects how you manage speed as you approach a turn; the other comes into play when the ground is uneven. Both matter whether you are out for a relaxed ride or carrying more pace along a familiar route.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha YFZ450

• Brakes: riding on dirt calls for measured braking as you set up for a bend, particularly when the surface offers less consistent grip than you expect. Brake accessories for the YFZ450 include options from Braking. If your usual routes have a succession of corners, think about how you want the brakes to feel as you slow down and turn in. It is easier to keep your riding smooth when you can judge your braking rather than relying on a last-second squeeze.
• Suspension: ruts and bumps ask more of a quad than a flat, even stretch of track. Suspension accessories for the YFZ450, including options from Öhlins, are relevant if you want to focus on its response over rough ground. The conditions you ride in are a useful starting point: a relatively smooth dirt track presents different demands from a route with repeated bumps and changes of direction. Consider where the quad feels unsettled before deciding which area deserves your attention.

Brakes and suspension address different parts of the ride, but they meet when you approach a corner over uneven ground. Keeping your regular terrain in mind makes it easier to decide which matters most for your YFZ450.
