Accessories for the Yamaha YZF 1000 R Thunderace

The Yamaha YZF 1000 R Thunderace is a sports bike that suits winding roads and longer days out alike. That makes riding position, protection and maintenance worth considering alongside appearance. What deserves attention first depends on how you use your Thunderace: weekend rides on favourite roads place different demands on it from a routine that also includes commuting through town.

What riders usually fit to the Yamaha YZF 1000 R Thunderace

• Handlebars: A way to tailor the cockpit to your riding needs. On a sports bike such as the Thunderace, where your hands sit matters on longer rides as well as through bends. This area deserves attention if your journeys regularly mix town traffic with open roads.
• Crash protection and protectors: Help reduce the effects of knocks or falls. For a Thunderace used around town as well as on weekend rides, parking manoeuvres and moving the bike at a standstill are good reasons to consider protection, not just faster road riding.
• Exhausts: An option for refreshing the bike's appearance and making its sporting character more prominent. Mivv and Ixil are among the accessory brands available for this model, offering a starting point for a more individual look.
• Filters: Keep maintenance on the list when your Thunderace covers regular commuting miles as well as longer weekend routes. For a bike you want to ride often, looking after routine servicing deserves attention alongside the more visible changes.
