Puig 4.0 Fixed Levers

Puig 4.0 fixed levers are the version of the range with no moving parts: a one-piece lever, 160 mm long, the usual length of a stock lever. They change the look of the bars and add span adjustment, while keeping the lever length you are used to when braking and pulling the clutch.

When a lever without joints makes sense

With no hinge or extender, a fixed lever has no joints that can develop play over the years and no moving parts to clean. And as it is the same length as the original, the leverage does not change either: the clutch feels no heavier and the brake modulates just as before. That makes it the natural choice on road bikes, everyday nakeds or tourers, when you want style and adjustment without getting used to a new feel. Its weak point is a fall, because a rigid lever can bend or snap if the bike lands on it. If you park on the street or ride on dirt, compare it with the folding lever of the same length among all the shapes of Puig levers.

Nine finishes and a separate dial

They are machined from a solid block of aluminium and anodised in black, titanium, silver, gold, red, orange, blue, green and lilac. On the product page you choose the colour of the adjuster separately, the dial that moves the lever closer to or further from the grip, as well as the side: brake, clutch or both. A few combinations that work:

• Black with a black dial, for understated bars that look stock until you take a closer look.
• Black or titanium with a dial in your bike's colour: a small touch that echoes the bodywork.
• Fully coloured, lever and dial matching, if you want the controls to stand out.

Part number and fitting

The 4.0 fixed lever is part number 4120 on the brake side and 4220 on the clutch, followed by two letters, one for the lever colour and one for the dial. It fits on your bike's adapter, chosen separately from the Puig lever adapters; if you are coming from 3.0 or 2.0 levers, you can keep the ones you have. And if the dial ever gets damaged or you fancy another colour, it is sold on its own among the Puig lever spare parts.
