Puig 4.0 Folding–Extendable Levers

Puig 4.0 folding-extendable levers are the most complete in the range: they fold if the bike goes down and have an extender that takes their length from 133 to 153 mm. Together with the dial adjustment, that gives three settings on one lever, so they suit large and small hands, summer or winter gloves, and relaxed or sporty riding.

Three adjustments, one after the other

1. Distance to the grip, with the dial: the first thing is to reach the lever without stretching your fingers.
2. Length, with the extender: in the short position it matches a two-finger lever; fully extended, it comes close to a stock one for whole-hand use.
3. Folding: there is nothing to set, it works on its own; just check that the tip returns to its place and sits firmly.

Do it sitting on the bike, wearing the gloves you use most, and go through it again when you switch to winter gloves, because their thickness changes how your hand sits. If you share the bike with someone with smaller hands, it is the shape that gives you both the most room to set the lever in moments, with the dial and the extender and no new parts.

An extender in another colour

The extender is a separate part and is sold on its own in sets of nine colours, lilac and titanium included, among the Puig lever spare parts. It lets you replace it if it gets scratched in a knock, or change the contrast of the lever without buying a whole new one. Watch the generation: the 4.0 extender is 22337 and the 3.0 one is different.

Part number and fitting

The 4.0 folding-extendable lever is 414 for the brake and 424 for the clutch, with three colour letters after it instead of two. Like the rest of the range, it fits on your bike's adapter, sold separately among the Puig lever adapters. If you would rather compare other brands first, or levers made for one specific model, see our motorcycle levers; every Puig shape is on the Puig levers page.
