Puig Swingarm Spools

Puig swingarm spools are sold in pairs in three versions: the standard spools and the PRO, with a long list of colours to match other anodised parts, and the protector spools, black only, designed so that in a fall the spool scrapes before the swingarm does. With so many combinations of thread and colour, the quickest way to get it right is to read the part number carefully.

The part number gives you the thread

Each combination of version and thread has its own four-digit number, and the letter that ends it is the colour:

• Spools: 5922 for M6, 5923 for M8, 5924 for M10/125 and 5988 for M10/150.
• PRO spools: 9258 for M6, 9259 for M8, 9260 for M10/125 and 9261 for M10/150.
• Protector spools: 4031 for M6, 7184 for M8, 4033 for M10/125 and 7185 for M10/150.

So if your swingarm takes M8 and you want red PRO spools, the one you are after is 9259R.

The colour chart

The letter follows the code Puig uses on its aluminium parts: N is black; P, silver; Y, titanium; O, gold; L, lilac; T, orange; V, green; A, blue; and R, red. Not every colour comes in every thread: titanium, for example, is only made in M6 and M8. If you want the rear axle area to match, Puig chain adjusters come in the same shades and sit right next to the spools.

What a spool is for and how to use it with a paddock stand is explained in motorcycle swingarm spools, and the other Puig families can be browsed from the main Puig page.
