SHAD mounting kits

A SHAD backrest fitting kit is the bracket that mounts a passenger backrest directly on the bike, without going through the top box. Each kit is made for one model and its part number ends in RV, such as H0PC10RV for the Honda PCX or Y0XM33RV for the 2023-2025 XMAX 125 and 300. The backrest pad is sold separately and is the same for every bike, in black, silver or white.

Which bikes have a kit

Nearly all of them are for scooters, where the passenger rides behind you every day and often without a top box: Kymco Super Dink, DTX, AK 550 or X-Town, SYM MAXSYM and ADX, Piaggio Beverly and MP3, Yamaha XMAX, TMAX and Tricity, Honda PCX, Forza and X-ADV, Suzuki Burgman, BMW C400GT and CE 04, the electric SEAT MÓ or Zontes models. Among motorcycles there are only a few, such as the kits for the Ducati Diavel 1200 or the Honda CTX700.

Backrest on the bike or on the top box

If you already carry a SHAD top box, the usual choice is to fit the backrest on the case itself: each top box model has its own among the backrests for SHAD top cases. The RV kit makes sense when you ride without a top box or take it off often, because the backrest stays on the scooter and does not depend on the case. On a custom, the SHAD sissy bar for your model does that job.

Before ordering, check the years carefully: the XMAX, for example, has one kit for 2017-2022 and another for the 2023 generation. Top boxes, cases and the rest of the brand's accessories are under SHAD.
