Accessories for the Benelli BN 302

The Benelli BN 302 is a naked bike suited to commuting and enjoying winding roads at the weekend. Those two uses call for slightly different priorities: protection for low-speed mishaps around town, relief from wind pressure on faster roads, and comfortable controls for stop-start traffic. Start with the journeys you make most often, then consider the finishing touches that give your BN 302 the look you want.

What riders usually fit to the Benelli BN 302

• Screens: A screen helps deflect airflow away from your upper body, which is useful on a naked bike when a country-road ride includes faster connecting roads. It is also a practical addition if your daily commute takes you beyond town.
• Crash protection: Daily parking and low-speed manoeuvres are good reasons to consider protection for exposed areas. On a BN 302 used for commuting, these accessories can help limit damage from a stationary drop or a low-speed fall.
• Mirrors: Keeping track of vehicles behind matters when you are riding through busy streets. Mirror shape and position deserve attention on an everyday BN 302, both for the rearward view and for how they sit around the riding position.
• Levers: Frequent clutch and brake use in urban traffic makes finger placement and reach particularly relevant. The lever shape is worth considering if much of your time on the Benelli involves junctions, traffic lights and repeated stops rather than uninterrupted open-road riding.
• Number plate holders: The rear end is a prominent part of a naked bike's appearance. Changing the holder is one way to pursue a tidier, sportier look for the BN 302, balancing any styling changes made around the headlight and handlebars.

For a mix of commuting and weekend rides, a screen and crash protection make a practical starting point. For predominantly urban use, give the controls and rearward view just as much attention.
