Accessories for the BMW C 400 GT

The BMW C 400 GT is a GT-style scooter suited to everyday commuting as well as longer rides beyond town. Your mix of urban streets and open roads helps determine which accessories earn their place: a screen for exposed stretches, comfortable controls for stop-start traffic and extra luggage capacity for weekends away, particularly when you have a pillion on board.

What riders usually fit to the BMW C 400 GT

• Screens: wind protection becomes more important when your commute takes in dual carriageways or your weekend route heads out onto open roads. A screen helps redirect airflow away from your upper body, with its height and shape influencing coverage in your normal scooter riding position.
• Luggage: additional carrying space is useful when the C 400 GT handles both work trips and short breaks. For journeys with a pillion, it gives you room for belongings from both riders rather than leaving someone to carry a bag on their back.
• Levers: repeated braking at junctions, traffic lights and queues makes these contact points particularly relevant to city riding. Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers sit on the controls, something you notice more during a busy cross-town commute than on an uninterrupted stretch of road.
• Mirrors: keeping track of traffic behind matters when moving between urban streets and faster roads. Mirror positioning should give you a useful rearward view without your arms filling much of the reflection, helping you monitor approaching vehicles before making a lane change.
• Phone mounts: a mounted phone can keep navigation visible for unfamiliar city addresses or a planned ride out of town. Positioning matters around the C 400 GT’s riding controls: the display should not obscure the instruments, and your route should be set before you move off.
