Accessories for the BMW K 1600 Exclusive

Long-distance touring is the natural setting for the BMW K 1600 Exclusive, whether you ride alone or with a pillion. Accessories earn their place by making sustained road use more comfortable or helping you look after the bike when the riding stops. Wind protection, the feel of the controls and care between trips are more relevant here than a track-focused approach to customisation.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1600 Exclusive

• Screens: A long motorway leg means spending hours exposed to airflow rather than a few minutes at a time. For touring on the K 1600 Exclusive, the aim is to ease wind pressure while keeping a comfortable view of the road from your normal riding position, not simply to fit the tallest screen.
• Protectors: Hotel car parks and service stations bring their own challenges when you are manoeuvring with luggage. Protection for exposed areas can help limit damage from minor knocks during these stops, particularly while positioning the bike in a parking space or getting it out again.
• Levers: Finger support and an easy reach to the controls matter over successive hours in the saddle. On a touring bike, the useful focus is comfortable operation with your usual riding gloves, rather than choosing a different lever purely for its appearance when the bike is parked.
• Covers: Touring does not always mean riding every day. A cover helps keep dirt off your K 1600 Exclusive during the gaps between trips, and can also be useful when you spend several nights at one destination and leave the bike parked while exploring in other ways.
