Accessories for the BMW K 1600 Sport

Road touring on the BMW K 1600 Sport puts the emphasis on wind protection, comfort over a full day's riding and looking after the bike at each stop. Whether you favour motorway miles or quieter roads, useful additions address both time in the saddle and the practicalities of staying away from home. That makes touring needs a sensible starting point before cosmetic changes.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1600 Sport

• Windscreens: On longer road journeys, the screen influences how much airflow reaches your upper body and helmet. It deserves attention if your K 1600 Sport regularly spends hours covering distance, particularly when reducing exposure to the wind matters more to you than changing its appearance.
• Protectors: A touring day includes plenty of low-speed manoeuvring, from stopping for lunch to parking at your accommodation. Protectors can help limit damage from minor knocks or a stationary drop in the areas they cover, addressing a different concern from comfort while riding.
• Levers: Riding through a busy town on the way to your destination means using the controls more often than on an open road. Lever shape affects how your fingers sit against them, making this contact point worth considering when your journeys mix steady cruising with frequent braking.
• Motorcycle covers: When an overnight trip leaves your K 1600 Sport parked away from its usual garage, a cover helps keep it covered between riding days. It also has a role back at home if weekend tours are followed by longer periods with the bike parked up.

Accessories for this model include options from Puig, Givi and Tucano Urbano. For a touring-focused setup, address wind exposure and protection at stops before turning to changes made mainly for appearance.
