Accessories for the BMW K 1200 R

The BMW K 1200 R is a sporty naked that suits winding-road rides, everyday journeys and weekends away. What you fit should reflect how you divide your time between them. Foot support matters when the bends come thick and fast, protection earns its place around town, and luggage becomes useful when an afternoon ride turns into an overnight trip.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1200 R

• Footrests: a worthwhile focus for riders who enjoy the K 1200 R on twisty roads. They provide an important point of contact with the bike, so boot support and leg position deserve attention, particularly when your rides mix sportier stretches with several hours on the road.
• Protection: useful for a naked bike that spends time in traffic and parking spaces as well as out on the open road. Protectors help limit damage to the areas they cover in a low-speed fall, giving them a practical role beyond changing the bike's appearance.
• Phone mounts: handy when your K 1200 R takes you beyond familiar roads and you use your phone for navigation. A mount holds the device while you ride, whether you are crossing town or following a weekend route. Set your destination before leaving and stop to make changes.
• Mirrors: part of the naked-bike look, but their everyday job matters more than styling alone. On commutes and open-road rides, a useful rearward view from your riding position helps you keep track of following traffic before changing lanes or adjusting your road position.
• Luggage: makes sense when you want to turn a favourite back-road loop into a weekend away. Cases give clothing and overnight essentials somewhere to go without carrying everything on your back, and serve an equally practical purpose if the K 1200 R is your weekday transport.
