Accessories for the BMW K 1600 Grand America

Long road trips, full days in the saddle and journeys with a pillion are natural territory for the BMW K 1600 Grand America. As a touring motorcycle, it calls for accessories that suit sustained riding rather than appearance alone. Wind protection, comfortable controls and protection during parking manoeuvres are useful priorities when deciding how to prepare yours for the road.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1600 Grand America

A touring day can combine motorway miles, winding roads and an overnight stop. These accessory types address different parts of that journey:

• Screens: On a long motorway stretch, managing airflow around your upper body matters more than it does on a short local ride. Screen height and shape influence wind protection, while your riding position determines the view you have along the road and over the screen.
• Protectors: Manoeuvring into hotel parking or stopping with luggage on board is part of touring, too. Protectors help limit damage from scuffs or minor falls in the areas they cover, making them a practical consideration for the slower moments at either end of a day's ride.
• Levers: A long-distance route still includes town traffic, junctions and frequent use of the controls as you approach your destination. Lever shape and reach matter here: a suitable fit for your hand supports comfortable operation after several hours on the road as well as during urban riding.
• Covers: A cover is useful when your Grand America is parked between trips or spends the night outside during a tour. It helps shield surfaces from dirt and environmental exposure while you explore a destination on foot or leave the bike resting until your next journey.
