Accessories for the BMW K 1600 B

The BMW K 1600 B combines bagger style with a focus on road touring, making long journeys and weekends away a natural part of its appeal. When choosing accessories, it makes sense to think beyond appearance: airflow on the motorway, comfort at the controls and protection during parking manoeuvres all matter. The right priorities depend on how your touring miles unfold.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1600 B

• Screens: sustained motorway riding makes airflow around your upper body and helmet particularly noticeable. On the K 1600 B, screen height and shape are worth considering alongside your normal riding position, rather than treating a taller screen as an automatic improvement.
• Protectors: fuel stops, hotel car parks and low-speed manoeuvres are part of every touring holiday. Protection for exposed areas can help limit damage from minor knocks or a stationary drop, keeping the less glamorous parts of a journey in mind.
• Levers: long days on the road often finish with town traffic and more frequent use of the controls. Lever shape affects how your fingers rest and apply pressure, making this a practical area to consider for touring with gloves on.
• Bodywork and styling: these accessories let you refine the details that contribute to the K 1600 B's bagger character. They suit riders who want the bike's visual finish to receive as much attention as its preparation for the next road trip.
• Covers and blankets: a touring bike may spend time parked between longer adventures. A cover helps keep dirt off while it is stored, making this a useful category when your riding calendar revolves around occasional trips rather than daily commuting.

For motorway-heavy journeys, put airflow and comfort at the controls first. If your routes involve frequent stops and unfamiliar parking spaces, give protectors a place in your plans too.
