Accessories for the Ducati 1198 R

The Ducati 1198 R is a sports bike suited to winding roads and track days. That puts wind protection, access to the controls and protection for exposed areas high on the list when choosing accessories. Your riding position matters here: parts should support the way you move on the bike, while workshop accessories can make preparation between rides more straightforward.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati 1198 R

• Screens: wind protection on a sports bike depends partly on how far you tuck down over the tank. Screen height and shape deserve attention whether you spend most of your time in a road-riding position or crouched low along a circuit’s straights.
• Protectors: these help shield particular areas if the bike goes down. For a 1198 R used on twisty roads or at track days, they are a practical way to help limit damage from a slide, rather than a guarantee against costly repairs.
• Levers: their shape and distance from the grip affect how you reach the brake and clutch in a sports riding position. This becomes particularly relevant during repeated braking and gear changes, when you want the controls to feel natural with your riding gloves on.
• Fasteners: these deserve attention if you regularly remove fairing panels for cleaning, checks or track-day preparation. On a sports bike that alternates between road rides and circuit sessions, looking after those fixing points is a useful part of the workshop routine.
• Stands: a suitable workshop stand provides support for cleaning and maintenance between rides. For a Ducati used at track days, its value lies in making those preparation sessions easier to organise, rather than changing how the bike handles out on the circuit.
