Accessories for the Ducati GT1000: classic road riding

The Ducati GT1000 combines classic roadster styling with a role that spans everyday journeys and weekend rides on winding roads. The most useful accessories support the way you actually ride it. Riding position, shelter from the wind and a clear view through traffic deserve attention, alongside the visual details that complement the bike’s character.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati GT1000

• Handlebars: where your hands sit affects how you settle onto the bike, whether you are crossing town or enjoying a string of bends. On the GT1000, bar height and width are worth considering together: both influence your riding posture, while width also matters when manoeuvring in tight urban spaces.
• Windscreens: a screen can take some wind pressure off your upper body when a weekend ride includes faster connecting roads. For the GT1000, it is also a noticeable styling choice, so the amount of shelter you want needs to sit comfortably with its classic appearance.
• Protectors: these can help limit damage to the areas they cover in a stationary drop or low-speed fall. They make practical sense on a GT1000 used around town, where parking, turning in confined spaces and wheeling the bike into position are regular parts of the day.
• Mirrors: commuting and open-road riding both call for a useful rearward view, but mirror shape also contributes to this Ducati’s classic silhouette. Their position relative to your hands and shoulders matters: you want to see behind from your normal riding posture rather than repeatedly shifting your body.

For mostly weekend riding, give priority to wind exposure and how you sit on the bike over a longer outing. A GT1000 used every day also benefits from attention to rearward visibility and protection during low-speed mishaps.
