Accessories for the Ducati Monster 1000

Commuting during the week and heading for winding roads at the weekend call for different priorities on the Ducati Monster 1000. As a naked, it lends itself to accessories that focus on riding position, protection and a clear view of surrounding traffic. The aim is to make the bike suit the riding you actually do, rather than change everything at once.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati Monster 1000

• Handlebars: Your choice of handlebar affects your reach and the position of your upper body. On a Monster used both in town and on twisty roads, it is worth focusing on a riding position that feels natural through bends without making slow-speed manoeuvres awkward.
• Protection: The exposed components of a naked make protection a practical consideration, particularly for a Monster used for daily urban journeys. Protectors can help limit damage from minor falls, making them relevant when regular parking and low-speed manoeuvring are part of your routine.
• Mirrors: Busy streets call for a useful view of traffic approaching from behind, while country roads make rearward awareness important before changing position or overtaking. For the Monster, mirror positioning should give you a clear view beyond your arms rather than leave much of the reflection obscured.
• Suspension: Winding roads put the emphasis on how the bike responds through successive bends and over changing surfaces. For a Monster used on these routes, your weight, regular road conditions and whether you carry a pillion are useful starting points when considering suspension changes.

For everyday town riding, prioritise a comfortable reach and a useful rearward view. If weekend bends dominate your mileage, give suspension a more prominent place in your plans.
