Accessories for the Ducati Monster 1000S

The Ducati Monster 1000S is a road-going naked that suits weekday journeys through town as well as rides on winding roads. Those two uses put the focus on riding position, rearward visibility and protection. The most useful additions address how you spend your time on the bike, rather than simply changing its appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati Monster 1000S

• Handlebars: Your choice of bar influences your reach and wrist position on the Monster. For a mix of commuting and longer country-road rides, think beyond how the riding position feels on a quick trip: it needs to remain comfortable when you spend more of the day in the saddle.
• Protectors: These help shield the areas they cover from knocks. If your Monster sees regular town use, parking manoeuvres and low-speed handling make protection a practical consideration. On a naked bike, looking after exposed parts can be a more useful starting point than making purely cosmetic changes.
• Mirrors: Following traffic matters when you are moving through town, while a clear rearward view also helps you prepare for turns on open roads. Choose with your normal riding position in mind, so the mirrors offer a useful view rather than simply completing the Monster's naked-bike look.
• Stands and side stands: For riders who balance weekend outings with looking after the bike at home, support equipment has a useful role off the road. A maintenance stand makes cleaning and maintenance tasks easier, helping you care for your Monster between rides.

For mainly urban riding, rearward visibility and protection are sensible priorities. If your rides regularly stretch beyond short journeys, give your position at the bars just as much attention.
