Accessories for the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing Tour

Long-distance touring shapes the way riders use the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing Tour, whether travelling alone or with a pillion. Hours on the motorway put wind protection and comfort at the controls high on the list. Accessories that help look after the bike during overnight stays and parking stops also have a useful role beyond the riding itself.

What riders usually fit to the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing Tour

• Windscreens: managing airflow matters when your route involves sustained motorway riding. A screen helps deflect wind away from your body, making its height and shape worth considering in relation to your seated position and your view of the road.
• Protectors: add protection around the areas they cover. On a touring bike, that is useful during the less glamorous parts of a journey, such as manoeuvring into unfamiliar parking spaces or making several stops along the way.
• Levers: deserve attention when you spend long days at the controls. A comfortable hold becomes particularly relevant as you leave faster roads behind and negotiate towns, junctions and queues, where your hands work more frequently.
• Fasteners: are practical replacements when servicing the bike or working on its bodywork. For riders preparing their Gold Wing Tour for an extended trip, attending to small fittings is part of looking after the machine, rather than simply changing its appearance.
• Covers: help shelter the bike while it is parked. They make sense for touring riders whose overnight stops do not always include a garage, as well as those who leave the bike unused between longer journeys.

For regular two-up touring, think about wind protection from both seats. Your own riding position is only part of the comfort equation when a pillion shares the miles.
