Accessories for the Honda ST1100 Pan European

The Honda ST1100 Pan European is a touring motorcycle suited to long journeys, whether you ride alone or with a pillion. Spending hours on the road puts wind protection and a comfortable riding position ahead of purely cosmetic changes. It also makes protection worth considering for the less glamorous parts of a trip, such as parking at your accommodation or manoeuvring during a fuel stop.

What riders usually fit to the Honda ST1100 Pan European

• Screens: sustained motorway riding makes shelter from the wind a priority. Screen height and shape matter when balancing protection with a clear view ahead, particularly if your touring days involve lengthy stretches of faster roads rather than short local journeys.
• Handlebar accessories: on a touring bike, the position of your arms and wrists needs to work for more than a brief ride. Focus on comfort at the controls for those days when the next overnight stop is several hours away.
• Crash bars and protectors: low-speed mishaps can happen when turning into a parking space or moving the bike outside a hotel. These accessories help limit damage to the areas they protect during a stationary drop or a low-speed fall.
• Levers: a touring route can include busy town centres as well as open roads. Comfortable operation of the controls matters when traffic demands repeated use, especially towards the end of a long day in the saddle.
• Fasteners: maintenance between trips is an opportunity to replace damaged screws when working on bodywork. Keeping those fixings in good condition is a practical consideration for a Pan European that continues to cover plenty of touring miles.

For mostly long-distance riding, start with wind protection and comfort at the controls. If your Pan European also handles urban journeys, give manoeuvring protection a place on the list.
