Accessories for the Honda VT1300CX

The Honda VT1300CX is a chopper-style cruiser suited to unhurried road rides and relaxed weekend outings. Accessories for this sort of riding should make sense from the saddle as well as looking right on the bike. If your routes also take you through town, mirror positioning and protection against minor parking knocks deserve attention alongside your choice of handlebars.

What riders usually fit to the Honda VT1300CX

• Handlebars: On a cruiser used for leisurely rides, the reach to the grips matters throughout the journey. A different handlebar can help you tailor your riding position, but consider town manoeuvres as well as how your arms sit when cruising along an open road.
• Mirrors: Mirror placement needs to work with your chosen bars and riding position, not just the chopper look. For a VT1300CX ridden through town, a useful rearward view helps you keep track of traffic before changing lanes or making a turn.
• Protectors: If your outings involve frequent stops, parking and moving the bike at walking pace, protection for exposed areas is worth considering. On this cruiser, the aim is to guard the areas they cover against minor knocks while keeping the overall appearance in mind.
• Screens: Longer stretches on open roads bring wind exposure into the equation, even when the pace is relaxed. A screen is a useful addition if you take your VT1300CX beyond short local rides and want to reduce the airflow reaching your upper body.

For mostly urban use, start with the relationship between bars and mirrors. If you spend more of the day on the open road, give riding position and wind protection greater weight.
