Accessories for the Indian Super Chief Dark Horse

The Indian Super Chief Dark Horse is a cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, weekend outings and exploring beyond town. For that kind of use, the points where you meet the bike deserve attention, as does your view of the traffic behind. Footpegs, levers and mirrors let you focus on riding position, control operation and appearance without moving away from its cruiser character.

What riders usually fit to the Indian Super Chief Dark Horse

• Footpegs: on a cruiser used for longer road rides, these are more than a styling detail. The contact area and the way your boots sit on it matter when you spend sustained periods seated. Consider that support in relation to your normal riding position on the Super Chief Dark Horse, rather than treating the pegs as an isolated change to its appearance.
• Levers: town traffic and villages along a weekend route mean more frequent use of the controls than an open stretch of road. Lever shape and reach affect how your fingers operate them from your usual grip. On a bike ridden for relaxed outings, the useful starting point is a natural hand position during repeated stops and starts, with the finish a separate consideration.
• Mirrors: their shape contributes to the custom look, but the view they provide matters when a quiet ride meets busier roads. Mirror size and positioning should give you a useful rearward view without making you shift awkwardly in the seat. Judge that view from your normal riding posture on the Indian, rather than judging the mirrors solely by how they look when it is parked.
