Accessories for the Kawasaki GPX600R

The Kawasaki GPX600R is a road-going sports bike for weekend rides on winding roads as well as everyday journeys. A commute through town and a longer day in the saddle bring different priorities: the riding position matters over distance, while parking and low-speed manoeuvres put the focus on protection. The accessories here cover GPX600R models from 1988 to 1999, concentrating on these practical aspects of road use.

What riders usually fit to the Kawasaki GPX600R

Town riding puts the emphasis on protection during stops and manoeuvres; longer road rides bring your position at the bars into sharper focus. That is where the accessory types below have a practical role.

• Handlebars: a way to adjust hand position and reach to the controls. On a GPX600R used for both twisty-road outings and daily travel, that makes riding posture a relevant consideration. Short, active rides and longer stretches in the saddle do not necessarily call for the same setup.
• Crash bobbins and bars: intended to help limit damage if the bike tips over at a standstill or very low speed. They make sense for a road-used sports bike when wheeling it around a garage, parking in town or making frequent stops during a day out.
• Protectors: offer more localised coverage against the scuffs of regular use. When your GPX600R handles the weekday commute as well as weekend routes, this is a way to look after the areas they cover, keeping everyday wear in mind alongside the bike's sporting role.
